Seventh Annual Social Media Week Hosts Experts from Sports, Entertainment, Media and More

Social Media Week 2018
The seventh annual UT Social Media Week (UTSMW), held Feb. 20 through 22, was a great success reaching 136,411 social media accounts, generating 142,881 impressions and with in-person attendance of 512.
UTSMW allows CCI to annually highlight and extend the progress made in the social media arena. “Thanks to CCI Board of Visitors member Adam Brown’s (BS/AD ’94) generosity and vision, the Adam Brown Social Media Command Center (ABSMCC) provides us with a wonderful tool to better listen to and analyze social media conversations,” said Advertising and Public Relations Associate Professor and ABSMCC Executive Director Courtney Childers. “The center provides us with unique opportunities to prepare our students for careers requiring extensive knowledge of social media tools. The annual Social Media Week augments our classwork and shows students how social media work in real world situations.”
